LAKESHORE, SAN FRANCISCO — Organizations and residents planning meetings or celebrations at Lake Merced Boathouse should know the city requires an advance application and does not offer guaranteed first-come event bookings.
San Francisco Recreation and Parks describes a renovated meeting room measuring approximately 60 by 32 feet, with a maximum occupancy of 126. An adjacent patio can accommodate roughly 20–30 additional people, subject to event rules.
Reservation conditions
The department says applications must reach it at least 30 days before the requested date for processing. Reservations may be requested up to a year in advance, and competing applications for the same date may enter a randomized lottery. Submission is not a guaranteed booking.
Fees depend on the event
The city distinguishes nonprofit meetings without food, nonprofit events that serve food and other private or commercial events. Charges also vary by day and time block. Staff, cleanup and separate room use may affect the total. Applicants should obtain a current written quotation rather than relying on a single published base fee.
For information and applications, the department lists RPDReservations@sfgov.org or 415-831-5500. Users should verify accessibility, catering and noise requirements before announcing an event.
